 The Weight and the Wings


Enlightenment is not a distant dawn,

Nor a crown bestowed by fate—

It is the moment you look within

And choose to stand up straight.


It is not the wind that lifts you high,

Nor fortune’s gentle hand,

But the courage to claim each joy and sigh,

And say: “This life, I understand.”


It is seeing the shadow you cast on the wall,

And owning the shape you find;

It is gathering fragments of rise and fall

And weaving them into your mind.


No blame to scatter, no praise to hoard—

Just the truth, unvarnished, clear:

That every choice, each spoken word,

Has led you to stand here.


Responsibility is not a chain,

But the key that sets you free—

To shape your days through loss and gain,

And become who you will be.


So take the weight, and feel the wings

That grow when you decide:

Enlightenment is the song you sing

When you no longer need to hide.
