 The Meaning of Life

Grow, soul, grow—

Stretch beyond the seed of self,

Rooted deep, then reaching high

For sunlight none can buy or sell.

Unfurl your leaves in silent prayer,

Drink the rain of wisdom’s fall;

Let each new lesson, gently shared,

Be nourishment for one and all.

For what is life if not to rise

Above the soil of fear and doubt,

To seek the truth behind the eyes

And draw the hidden spirit out?

But not alone—no tree stands tall

Without the forest’s woven hands;

So help another hear the call,

Guide them through the shifting sands.

A whispered word, a patient ear,

A kindness given, freely so—

These are the ways we make it clear

That all are meant to learn and grow.

To grow, to help, to lift, to light—

This is the meaning, pure and true;

A single flame that splits the night,

And sets the world ablaze anew.

So let your spirit rise and shine,

And help another do the same;

For in this dance, your life and mine

Are braided by a sacred aim.
