In shadows deep where children lie,
Their fears take flight beneath the sky,
The dark unknown, a whispered fright,
Yet innocence holds them through the night.
We soothe their dreams with gentle grace,
A tender touch, a warm embrace,
For in their hearts, the dawn will break,
And light will dance for morning's sake.
But what of those whose eyes are blind,
To light that seeks their souls to find?
The tragedy, a tale untold,
When grown men shun the light they hold.
Afraid to face the truths that gleam,
In daylight's honest, piercing beam,
They hide in shadows, safe and small,
Fearing the rise, the risk, the fall.
Yet light is where the courage grows,
Where wisdom's gentle river flows,
To fear the light is to deny,
The beauty in the open sky.
Oh, may we learn from children's ways,
To greet the light with open gaze,
For in its glow, we find our might,
And banish shadows with its light.
