 The Secret of a Happy Life


The secret hides in simple grace,

Not in a far or distant place.

Not in the gold that kings have kept,

But in the soul that’s truly met.


It’s not the race that others run,

Nor trophies gleaming in the sun.

But walking paths your heart has drawn,

And waking glad to meet the dawn.


The world may shout, may try to sway,

With louder rules and harsher play.

Yet peace is found in quiet truth—

The voice you’ve known since tender youth.


To laugh at quirks, to dance off beat,

To wear worn shoes upon your feet.

To dream aloud, to cry, to sing—

To feel each moment’s offering.


No mask to wear, no part to play,

Just you, unfolding day by day.

In every flaw, in every scar,

You are enough, just as you are.


So let them chase their shifting prize—

While you find stars in your own skies.

The secret’s this: in joy or strife,

The happy soul is living life as life.
