In the glow of the fire, warmth fills the air,
Yet some choose to wander, to drift without care.
They step back from the embers, away from the heat,
And though flames dance and flicker, they feel the retreat.
The fire, ever faithful, keeps burning so bright,
But those who withdraw feel the chill of the night.
With distance, they lose what the warmth would bestow,
In shadows they linger, embracing the cold flow.
When the light beams with brilliance, it casts out the dark,
Yet some turn their backs, miss the beauty, the spark.
As radiance continues to shimmer and shine,
In their absence from brightness, they wander, confined.
So too with the Spirit, the essence of grace,
When hearts choose to wander and turn from that place.
God's presence still shines, unwavering, true,
But souls that withdraw find their world dimmed to blue.
In choosing to distance, they lose what can save,
From warmth and from light, into darkness they pave.
But if hearts would draw near, to the fire and light,
They’d find in connection, their spirits take flight.
Embrace the warmth of the flame and the glow,
Let love be the journey, let faith help us grow.
For in closeness to fire, to light, and to God,
We find in each moment, the path to our laud.
